John graduated early from the U of T to join the navy during WW2.  He lived in Toronto until the time of his marriage to Arlyn Frances Gates from White Plains, New York, USA.   John passed away in 1994 after a battle with cancer.  John and Arlyn had 7 children, two of which predeceased John.

The vigeon name is originally french in origin, however the Vigeon’s landed in England in the early 1800. In the 1890’s the Vigeon, Settled in Toronto. First on Bloor St, then on Glen Road. John grew up in the Rosedale, Toronto area. He went to Upper Canada College and University of Toronto, graduating in Business - an accountant by trade. He worked in the field of Business mergers and acquisitions under the firm name of Vigeon & Company (established name of his father in early 1900) and had an office for several years at 304 Bay Street, Toronto. John played football for U of T and skated at the Toronto Cricket and Curling Club on St. Clair. The family was also members of the Granite Club.

John won numerous figure skating medals:
