Born: 08 Jul 1933          Died: 26 Feb 2014

 

TURNBULL, Douglas - Passed peacefully in his residence, on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the age of 80. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Georgina (1998). Loving father of Cathi and her husband Ron Mietkiewicz. Proud grandfather of his little buddy Andrew. Doug is survived by siblings Donna, Joan, Marilyn, Jim, Nancy and Brian and he is predeceased by brothers Robert, and Bill. Doug will be sadly missed by sisters-in-law Mary, Ruth and her husband Mac and many nieces and nephews. Proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Korean War on HMCS Magnificent on its Coronation Tour. Doug was a member of the Halton Naval Veterans Association for over 20 years, he will be missed by those long-time friends. Visitation at Smith's Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Private cremation to follow. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
