Edward Wayne Lee (Papa) Johnson

Died: 18 Dec 2019, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

 

JOHNSON, Edward Wayne Lee (Papa) - age 77 of Lake Echo, passed away peacefully in Dartmouth General Hospital on December 18, 2019. The family is saddened to announce the passing of their beloved grandfather, father, brother, uncle. He was a son of the late Rankin and Hilda Johnson. He is survived by brothers, Murray (Ila), Jim (Shirley), and Tom (Mary). Lee left his home town of Chatham, Ont., in 1967 to pursue his voyage in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years, serving nine of those years as a submariner and also on several different ships. He worked in Osborne Head until his retirement. Lee was a happy man who viewed life as, "I came, I saw, I conquered". Lee lived his life to the fullest, making many family members and friends happy along the way with his love and devotion. You could always count on Mr. J. We will miss how positive an outlook on life he had and the special laughter he brought to us all. Lee is survived by the mother of his children, Carol Johnson; children, Robert Morgan, Christina Cann (Bruce), Crystal Power (Brad), Lee Johnson (Roxanne), Christopher Johnson; grandchildren, Nicholas Morgan, Cody (Caitlin), Kayla Power, Jazmin, Savana, and Maeson Johnson. Lee was predeceased by brothers, John and Robert Johnson; grandson, Callum Cann. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Dartmouth General Hospital for outstanding care and treatment. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at a later date. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald 21 Dec 2019)
