ROLLAND, Joseph W. - RCNVR 1938 - 1945 North Atlantic Convoy Duty CN Express 1945 - 1977 - Peacefully at the Pearly Rideau Veterans Health Centre on Wednesday, January 05, 2011. Joseph Rolland aged 89. Husband of Hazel Rolland. Dear father of Doreen (Tom Hardiman), Donald (Sandra Rolland), Joanne McCallum and Judi (Sheldon Straby). Beloved grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Gerard. Predeceased by sisters Anita, Yolande, Fernande, Adrienne, Patricia and brothers Romuald and Edgar. Friends are invited to visit the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway), Ottawa, on Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment at Ramsayville Cemetery, Ramsayville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart Institute would be appreciated. (The Ottawa Citizen 07 Jan 2011)

HMCS SACKVILLE - Served in SACKVILLE 27 May 1942 - 06 Mar 1943 as an A/AB and AB, RCNVR. Rated AB 21 Sep 1942

HMCS GIVENCHY - Served in GIVENCHY 29 May 1943 - 30 Aug 1943 as an AB, RCNVR

HMCS PRINCE RUPERT - Served in PRINCE RUPERT 31 Aug 1943 - 27 Apr 1944 as an AB, RCNVR. Commissioning crew
