Died: 31 Aug 1959, Toronto, Ontario

 

James enlisted Royal Navy 6 July, 1901 as Boy Seaman and attainted the rank of Chief Petty Officer, Torpedo Cox'n in 1916.  He was pensioned and enrolled in Royal Fleet Reserve on 22 Dec 1924. In 1924, he moved family to Charlton, ON.  He was discharged from the Royal Fleet Reserve on 14 Dec 1927.  On 08 Dec 1939, he enlisted in the RCN as a Chief Petty Officer.
