Died: 09 Mar 2021

 

PARKER, Douglas - Age 76, passed away March 9 2021. Born in Newcastle, N.B. July 1944 to parents George and Winnie Parker. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Adele (Maclean); daughters, Kim and Karen; and his greatest joy, granddaughter, Leah; sisters, Margo (Murray), Mary (Gerald), Donna and Barbie; sister-in-law, Barb; brother-in-law, Gordon (Ina); and many nieces and nephews. Doug joined the navy as an electrician. He retired after 32 years in the military having served on the CAPE SCOTT, CRESCENT QU'APPELLE, IROQUOIS, ASSINIBOINE, FRASER and PRESERVER. He also taught electricians at Stadacona. His Navy days offered him the opportunity to see the world and he continued to travel throughout his life to pursue his passion with wife Adele. They enjoyed cruises to the Western and Eastern Caribbean, Alaska and Europe. Doug enjoyed summer vacations spent visiting family in New Brunswick and Ontario visiting various amusements parks along the way. Everyone who knew Doug enjoyed his smiling face, caring ways, he was outspoken and had a dry sense of humor. He was the type to do anything for anyone and will be missed by all knew him. There will be no funeral due to COVID. Cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Life will happen at a later date.
