Born: 28 Oct 1947, Ottawa, Ontario

Died: 211 May 2021, Halifax, Nova Scotia

KEHOE, Charles Anthony - Charlie died suddenly on May 21, 2021, following complications from surgery. Born October 28, 1947 in Ottawa, Ontario, he was the youngest son of Charles and Bernadette Kehoe. In 1964 he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and moved to Halifax, where he met and married the love of his life, Rosemary Doyle. Charlie enjoyed his career in the Navy as an electrician, and was always ready for the next trip to sea. He was particularly proud of his peacekeeping tour in Cambodia in 1992. Upon his retirement from the military in 1996 as a CPO2, Charlie and Rosemary delivered mail in Clayton Park and Bayers Lake as independent contractors for nearly 10 years before he retired for good.

Charlie enjoyed simple pleasures like his favourite video games, a drink at the pub, and a board game. He enjoyed catching up with Electrical Technicians at the Lower Sackville Legion. He was a family man; from teaching Shawn to play chess, to waxing Shannon's kayak so it would go 'extra fast' in races on Lake Banook, to ensuring all the pets received Christmas presents—he always provided for his family. Most notably, when Rosemary's health declined, he cared for her day in and out. After her passing in 2018, he spoke of her every single day.

Charles is survived by his son, Shawn (Kimberly); daughter, Shannon; brother, Jack (Claire); sisters-in-law, Judy Doyle and Marilyn Kehoe Northrup; and his nephews Matthew (Heather), Mark, and Terrence. He was predeceased by his loving wife; parents; and brother, Billy.

A celebration of life will take place when it is safe to gather together. Memorial donations can be made to the IWK Foundation or your charity of choice.
