GODFREY, Carl Evan - It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Carl Evan Godfrey, 80, of Dartmouth, on Monday, October 18th. Carl was born in Springhill, a son of the late Harold and Eldora (Terris) Godfrey. Carl is survived by his wife Sharon of 60 years; children. Virginia and Carl; honorary granddaughter "Best Buds"; Alyssa Mohammed; and his brother, Russell (Sally). He was predeceased by his parents, Eldora (Terris) and Harold Godfrey; his sister, Donna Chute; and his brother, Gordon. Carl was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired from RCN in 1980 after serving aboard the SWANSEA, the SAGUENAY, the THUNDER, the BONAVENTURE and the PROTECTEUR with land postings at CFB Halifax. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill. A private by-invitation service will take place at a later date. For those who wish to do so, donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
