RCN / C.A.F.

Lieutenant (MARE), C.A.F.

Born: 1930, Tillsonburg, Ontario

Died: 14 Mar 2022, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

WATTS, Murray Keith - passed away peacefully on March 14, 2022, in Dartmouth General Hospital in Nova Scotia.

He was 91. Born in Tillsonburg, Ont., to Kenneth and Gertrude Watts, Keith joined the Royal Canadian Navy as an Electrician, serving for 32 years before retiring as a commissioned Officer and Korean War Veteran.

Keith always kept himself busy. When his boys were growing up, he involved himself in coaching hockey, baseball and football in the Woodlawn area of Dartmouth. Football was his true passion, having played the game in his younger years. He loved all his time spent at the cottage on Lake Torment, making it a postcard perfect backdrop to many lasting memories shared with his family. If something was broken he could fix it and was always up for the challenge.

He was a proud man and loved to share stories of growing up in Tillsonburg, Ont., also of the time spent at his parents cottage on Long Point, Lake Erie, Ont.
Keith is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Judy), Kevin and Kirk; and his grandchildren, Cheryl, Miriam, Bryce, Tim, Eric and Samantha. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathleen (2003); and son, Kris (2016).

He was the last living member of his immediate family. As per his request he has been cremated and there will be no service. (Saltwire Network 18 Mar 2022)
