Died: 20 May 2022

 

SCHWEIER, Oscar George - Passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022 at Northumberland Hill Hospital. Beloved husband of the Late Eileen Schweier (Mather) 2008. Devoted step father of Robert Page (Christine), and the Late Sharon Page Holt (the Late Richard Holt). Brother of John Schweier (Linda).

 

Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Anne (Alberico), brother Wilfred Junior (Whip) and sisters Rosie and Margo.

 

A successful business man in life. Oscar was the former owner of E&O Haulage, RMW Distributing and Trent Tackle Service.

 

A proud Royal Canadian Navy Vet, (Petty officer 1st class, UDT / Clearance diver/Navy chef. He was one of the last surviving member of the ships company of HMCS HAIDA (Korean War Deployment) and Canada's last aircraft carriers, HMCS MAGNIFICENT and BONAVENTURE.

 

At Oscar's request cremation has taken place. No visitation or Service.

 

Private family interment beside the love of his life Eileen at Upper Keene Cemetery will take place at a later date.

 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Jude Obomighie, staff of the Tower of Port Hope Retirement Residence and Northumberland Hill Hospital for their great care and compassion in making Ossie's final years happy and enjoyable and final days dignified and comfortable.
