Died: 06 Aug 1995, Victoria, British Columbia

 

MOORE, Ernest Edward (Pony) - passed away peacefully at the James Bay Lodge on Sunday, August 6, 1995. Born in Kamloops, BC August 7, 1918, Pony joined the RCN in 1936 as a boy seaman, serving 32 years. He retired in 1968 as a Lt. Cdr. He subsequently was with the Pacific Pilotage Authority until his retirement. He is survived by his family: wife Irene; two daughters, Jan Dowling, and husband, Tom, and children, Erin and Kristen of North Vancouver, BC and Carol Hunter, and husband, Rod and children, Kalie and Philip of Victoria; son, Ted, and wife, Vicky and children, Shannon and Kevin of Westbank, BC and also by sister, Byng Hold of Victoria. Private cremation. Flowers gratefully declined in favour of donations to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements through the Memorial Society of BC.

LCdr Pony Moore as the METEI Beachmaster on Easter Island, presenting an old naval cap that belonged to the CAPE SCOTT’S Captain, Cdr Tony Law, to an elderly Easter Islander who assisted him.
