DAVIDSON, Gordon, AB, V55130, RCNVR, died - 25 Oct 1944, HMCS SKEENA - Son of Herbert C. and Janet C. Davidson of Montreal, Quebec.
Able Seaman Gordon Davidson, age 19, R.C.N.V.R, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Davidson of 5255 Grenier Avenue, Montréal, Québec, is reported to have been lost at sea while on active service. He is one of three children Mr. and Mrs. Davidson who were serving in the armed forces. Another son, Alan, was wounded in action and is now in hospital and a daughter, Joyce, is in the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service. Able Seaman Davidson has been in the service 18 months. He attended West Hill High School.
AB Davidson drowned while trying to get a safety line ashore so that the remaining crew could be safely removed from SKEENA. His body later recovered near Reykjavik Harbour. He is buried in the Fossvogur Cemetery, Reykjavik, Iceland.
