LAHEY, Charles Bernard (Bernie) - It is with great sadness that Bernie's family announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by family at the Veterans Memorial Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara (Blake), his son Steve (Andrea) and daughter Sharon Maundrell (Paul). He is also survived by his treasured grandchildren Megan and Keegan Maundrell and Matt and Taylor Lahey. Born in Halifax Nova Scotia, Bernie served 32 years in the Navy, flying as aircrew in trackers off  HMCS BONAVENTURE as well as on Argus and Aurora. He served at Shearwater and Greenwood NS, Ottawa ON, and Comox BC. His final posting was in Victoria, working with Air Cadets. After retiring from the military, Bernie spent 10 years in the BC Provincial Government, working with the Provincial Emergency Program. In his retirement years Bernie enjoyed walking and spending time with family and friends.

We would like to thank the staff at Broadmead Lodge for their excellent and compassionate care. Following Bernie's wishes there will be no service. (Victoria Times Colonist 14 Jul 2023)
