Born: 14 Nov 1924, Hamilton, Ontario

 

Died: 13 Apr 1990, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

 

After his naval career he flew charter flights, highway patrols, med-evac flights, and 2,030 round trips to Sable Island. Then he flew for the Government of Nova Scotia as pilot for the Premier of Nova Scotia.  Robert's daughter, Eran Louise (Laidler) Constable (1947-2022) was baptized on HMCS WARRIOR.

HMCS WARRIOR - For 743 Squadron in 1946

HMCS STADACONA

HMCS NEW LISKEARD - Served in NEW LISKEARD as Communications Officer and for Watchkeeping Training in 1947

RCN AIR SECTION (Dartmouth) - for 18th Carrier Air Group as a Pilot in 883 Squadron

* Transferred to RCN IN 1947

* Appointed Lt (P) (SSA), RCN (seniority 05 Nov 1945)

HMCS WARRIOR - For 883 Squadron in 1947

HMCS MAGNIFICENT - for 880 Squadron in 1952

HMCS MAGNIFICENT - for VF-871 Squadron as Squadron CO in 1956

HMCS BONAVENTURE - as LCdr (Operations) in 1958

HMCS BONAVENTURE / USS WASP / USS YORKTOWN for VS-880 Squadron as Squadron CO in 1965

* Retired 31 Dec 1975

* Transferred to Air Reserve as a Lt-Col (AR) (PLT) (seniority 09 Jan 1975)
