Died: 31 Dec 2023, Victoria, British Columbia

 

FORD, Robert Kim - It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kim on December 31, 2023 in Victoria, BC. Predecesed by his parents Clay Ford and Elinor Bell. Loving husband of his wife Susan. Devoted father of Tony Allen (Tammy) of Victoria , David Pettigrew (Tanya) of Spectacle Lake, Chris Pettigrew of Sooke, Ken Cropp-Allen of Victoria and Pearl Allen of Victoria. Survived by his dear sister Dawn Ford-Hunter (Tony) of Charlottetown, PEI. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

 

Kim was born in Middleton, Nova Scotia to a military family and he lived in many places around the world until his father retired to Brackley Beach, PEI. After finishing high school on PEI he joined the Canadian military. He did most of his military service in Victoria as an electrician on several ships including the commissioning crew of HMCS Vancouver. He did several postings to Halifax and one to Saint John, NB. He retired and joined the civilian ranks, did Quality Assurance for DND and a brief stint for the Fisheries and Oceans. Kim enjoyed being involved with his younger children activities. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and woodworking. He was also a valued member of the C&PO's Association, CFBGA and Langford Legion.

 

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial Service will be announced at a later date. (Arbor Memorial)
