In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
AULD, John James Harry (Jack) - passed away peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, N.B. on Sat. October 4th, 2025 with his wife, Lynn, at his side. He resided at his beloved Skiff Lake for 30 years.
Jack was born in Hamilton, Ontario on July 12th, 1938, son of Marion Rennie Auld and Joseph John Auld.
He proudly spent 35 years in the Canadian Navy, joining as a young man in 1959 on the HMCS Kootenay. He travelled around the world and loved it all! These 3 ships were participants in Operation Friction, Canada’s contribution to the economic embargo of Iraq following that country’s invasion of Kuwait. Jack served on 10 ships over his career, most of which were DDH (destroyers with helicopters). He loved the Navy and would have gone back at any time if they called him.
After retirement, he moved from Nova Scotia to Skiff Lake, N.B. where he rekindled his love of flower and vegetable gardening, woodworking fishing and hunting. Jack will be dearly missed by his family, friends and the Skiff Lake community.
