Petty Officer Riecke died when HMCS ST CROIX was sunk on 20 Sep 1943 by U-305. There was only 1 survivor from HMCS ST CROIX, Stoker William (Bill) Fisher.
Harry Riecke had been a member of the Weyburn police force and the South Saskatchewan Regiment before enlisting on August 13, 1940 at Regina, Saskatchewan, and left a wife Patricia at Montréal.
