Died: 09 Feb 2021, Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

NOLAN, Albert Bernard - At Northwood Centre, Halifax. Born and raised in Timmins, Ontario, he was the eldest son of the late Patrick and Gladys (Fitzpatrick) Nolan. Albert joined the Royal Canadian Navy in May of 1953 and retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in November of 1982. He went on to work for AXA Home Insurance until his final retirement in 1992. Albert loved being in the Navy and served in many HMC Ships including Fundy, Nipigon and Annapolis. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann (Kyte); his sister Carol; as well as his children, Patrick, Christopher and Pamela; son- in-law Tim; and grandchildren Kyle and Georgia. Albert is also survived by his brother-in-law George, and sisters-in-law Paula, Lydia, and Theresa, as well as many nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his brother James Nolan, brothers-in-law Patrick O'Neill and Robert Kyte, and sister-in-law Mary Kyte. The family would also like to thank all the staff at Northwood 3 Centre for their compassionate care for Albert. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6351 North St., Halifax. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, pre-registration is required through the church. Committal will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only. Memorial donations can be made to Feed Nova Scotia or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home. (The Toronto Star 13 Feb 2021)
