STUART, George Eaton L/Stwd, 40618, RCN died - 11 Apr 1946, HMCS UGANDA - Son of George Stuart and Mrs. C.M. Kemp; husband of Dorothy Stuart of Winnipeg, Manitoba. (note: parents were divorced and L/Stwd's mother had re-married.)

 

Leading Steward George Eaton Stuart died from a severe electrical shock. A Naval Board of Inquiry was held to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. The death was caused by cardiac (heart) collapse presumably brought on by a freak electric shock when Steward George Eaton Stuart was testing an electric iron with his hand. He is buried in the Gamboa British Cemetery, Brazil.
