John Edward Abraham

ABRAHAM, John Edward - of Dartmouth, died Sunday in Camp Hill Hospital. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Mrs. Alice B. (Shields) Abraham and the late Arthur William Abraham. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939 to 1970. At the time of his death he was employed with Trizec Equities as manager of Park Victoria. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Whebby; three sons, John Murray, Port Angeles, Wash.; Michael, CFB Esquimalt; Anthony, at home, a daughter, Catherine, Dartmouth; two grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur W., Moncton; Rev. J.M. Abraham SJ, Kurseong, Northern India; two sisters, Betty (Mrs.. F.L. Perry), Calgary; Clare (Mrs. B.E. Carreau, Waverley. The body is at Dartmouth Funeral Home. Funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church. Burial will be in Mount Hermon cemetery, Dartmouth.

 

John served in the RCN from 1939 to 1945. He commissioned from the ranks (CFR) in 1951.
